“I will always sing your praises - I think you are one of the few who understands the middle school brain for both girls AND boys. You worked so tirelessly, and through a pandemic no less…”

For better or for worse, our school experience plays a significant role in creating the self-image we adopt for the rest of our lives. For students who struggle in school or face difficult or unexpected transitions, an experienced, compassionate partner can make all the difference.

I spent 33 years in schools in various roles, including teacher, coach, advisor, dorm parent, and head of school. I draw on that lived experience as well as my training in trauma-informed counseling to work with students and families in a variety of ways, according to need. These include:

  • Individual academic (as well as organizational and executive functioning) support. May be combined with coaching/counseling as needed.

  • Individual emotional support with issues including peer relationships, poor self-esteem, depression & anxiety, addiction, and issues specific to neurodiverse learners. May be combined with academic support.

  • Parent coaching/counseling, including student support plan development and school advocacy.

  • Student/family advocacy with teachers and school administrators as requested, including participation in IEP formulation, safety plans, and disciplinary issues.

  • Home-schooling curricula (SEL and subject area) and instruction. (Information coming on a small home-school cohort for September, 2024.

  • Online and home-based services available.
